I can see it all so clearly,
the pond, the trees, the sky.
All of it changing yearly,

We spent the day in a secluded park,
we picniced on cheese and wine and napped.
We woke in each other's arms in the dark,
as we packed up, a deer moved twigs that snapped.

 

On the journey home in the clear moonlight,
we discussed the beauty of the deer and our love.
We are never far from each other's sight,
it is truly a love blessed from above.

 

We made sweet, passionate love ~ love so strong,
I remember slipping off to sleep so contented.
Not a single thing with you feels wrong,
I'm glad our love is not unrequitted but consented.

 

Then, I realized as I woke, you're not here, I'm alone.
I keep trying so hard to remember your face.
My dream lover was erased by the phone,
I really need to go and get out of this place.
